Edesur detected 34 clandestine connections in the closed neighborhood La Dolfina Polo Ranch

Negative pole: Edesur opened a case for theft of electricity.

The electricity distributor Edesur reported on Monday that a technical team from the company detected 34 clandestine connections in the gated community La Dolfina Polo Ranch, located in the district of Cañuelasprovince of Buenos Aires, of approximately 470 hectares.

The theft of energy was verified by a notary public and was intended for homes, irrigation pumps, polo fields and stables, reported Edesur.

Company personnel confirmed that several units did not have a meter and verified that these clandestine connections were used to supply energy to houses, properties with irrigation pumps, lighting for general services, polo fields and 15 stables.

Once the configuration of the cases and the calculations of the damage caused to Edesur have been completed, the corresponding criminal complaint will be processed for the crime of energy theft.

“This type of connection is a big problem for the distribution network, because it causes system failures and affects customers who pay for their consumption,” the company highlighted.

In addition, it implies an “enormous risk for those who make the illegal connection who can suffer damage to themselves, to third parties and generate ups and downs in the tension of their neighbors.”
