Edesur Dominican Republic announced that it activated its Emergency Committee to deal with the possible passage of tropical storm Fiona through the company’s territory.
In this sense, the general manager of EdesurMilton Morrison, instructed all the personnel responsible for guaranteeing the supply of the electricity service in their concession area, to have the necessary logistics before, during and after the phenomenon, and to remain attentive to the official organisms.
“Edesur Dominican is very aware of the weather forecasts offered by the Emergency Operations Center, and will deploy brigades to different strategic locations to deal with the possible impacts that Fiona could cause in our concession area,” said Milton Morrison.
Morrison further reported that staff at Edesur is trained, and with all the willingness to contribute to the stability, quality and continuity of the electrical service as soon as possible, in the face of this type of meteorological events.
He recalled that among the preventive actions are identified work teams from the different areas of the company to guarantee operability, in case of emergency; reinforcing security at substations, trimming trees that could interrupt service due to storm winds, among other actions.
Milton Morrison recommended that citizens in general take preventive measures in their homes, and keep their distance from power lines and poles.

Last June 1, Edesur The Dominican Republic launched its contingency plan for the 2022 Hurricane Season.
Previously Edesur has forged ties separately with the National Association of Firefighters, and the Civil Defense to coordinate prevention actions and face emergency situations together.
