The Deputy Attorney General for the Electrical System (PGASE) in coordination with the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeste), carried out an operation to notify and detect electrical fraud in several commercial establishments in La Romana, where irregularities were identified that represent annual losses amounting to RD$911,599.18 for the electrical system.
The deployment included the participation of specialized units from the PGASE and the SIE, together with technical teams from Edeeste, who carried out simultaneous inspections at different strategic points, detecting irregular connections that compromise the security of the network and affect the financial sustainability of the service.
Among the establishments intervened are Suplidora Eliezer, The Mole Car Wash, The Mole Fitness Club, Concretera Sin Nombre and Neno Gomas y Radiadores. In these businesses, the technicians determined an estimated real consumption of 54,188 kWh, energy that was not being properly recorded or billed in accordance with its actual demand. Edeeste and the PGASE said that this type of practices, particularly in consumers with high energy demand, impacts the stability of the service,
