The National Union of Educators of Panama (Unep) rejected compulsory vaccination and has demanded that the Ministry of Education (Meduca) accelerate the repair of infrastructures, appointments in educational centers before next March 7, when face-to-face classes begin. , the issue of teacher advocacy and the zoning of hard-to-reach areas, among other issues.

The coordinator of Unep, Eddy Pinto, referred this Friday to the meeting held by magisterial leaders with the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos on Thursday afternoon, indicating that in addition to the pending issues described above, they are concerned about the state of infrastructure and maintenance of schools.

In addition, the high level of failures, especially those students who have more than three failures. “We refer to the dropouts, those who had more than three failures and although primary school does not count, for us these very high levels of failures of students who failed the educational system are of utmost concern,” he said.
