The Ecuadorian player Quito League Marco Angulowho suffered a serious traffic accident 39 days ago, died this morning, as confirmed by his club and the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF). The 22-year-old international spent more than a month with a reserved prognosis in a hospital in the Ecuadorian capital, until today his tragic death was known, as a result of the injuries that occurred in the early hours of October 7, after colliding at high speed with some workers’ protection fences on a highway in Quito.
Angulo and four other people were traveling in the vehicle. With the death of the international, three people died in the accident; Roberto Cabezas Simisterra, full back of Independiente Juniors, and Víctor Charcopa Nazareno. Both the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) and its club, Liga de Quito, have published a statement on their social networks, expressing their “deepest regret” and “deep pain and sadness” at the tragic news.
