The consumption of wild meat is a crime in Ecuador, reported the Ministry of the Environment.

This is how the jury of the Master Chef cooking program presented the products that the participants had to cook.
This aroused criticism from environmentalists who indicated that in this way the consumption of wild meat and, therefore, the hunting of species that are threatened every day and could become extinct.
The indiscriminate hunting, the transport of meat or constituent elements, trade, consumption, among other illegal activities are a danger to the conservation of the country’s species and ecosystems, as well as a potential risk to human health.

Ministry of Environment rejected the television action
«Protecting the integrity of wildlife, categorically rejects the promotion and dissemination of graphic or audiovisual content that encourages the purchase and consumption of wild species or their constituent elements, such as that presented in a national television program, which, although it was filmed outside of the country, exposes a situation that could lead to the illegal consumption of wild meat«Wrote the State portfolio.
“We call on citizens to respect and protect the extraordinary biodiversity of the country and urge the media to support the strengthening of national environmental policy,” he added. (AVV)
