One of the regulations that Lasso highlighted is temporary residence by teleworking.
Foreigners who wish to apply for the temporary residence visa for teleworking must meet four requirements: demonstrate income from a foreign source, at least three Unified Basic Salaries (SBU) per month, from the three months prior to the visa application.
They can also show that they have a total of 36 SBUs per year, for this they must attach copies of their international account statements.
It can also be applied with documents showing that it is owner of a company or company registered and domiciled abroad.
Additionally, you must submit a health insurance national or foreign, valid for the same period of the visa.
Returned Ecuadorians
Ecuadorians who have stayed abroad regularly or irregularly (minimum of two years) can apply for their returned migrant card.
In the two years prior to their return they may have been in the national territory for a maximum period of six months. The previous regulation established only three months.
The status of returned migrant extends to three years, before it was two. “Only in the case of forcibly returned migrants, it will not be necessary to comply with the two years of permanence abroad to enjoy the legal benefits,” the law states.

The National Customs Service will establish the list and the admissible quantities of merchandise that will be considered as household items, which will be the only ones that can be imported.
But, in clothing, as well as footwear and accessories cannot exceed 200 kilos“for the migrant and for each one of the members of the family nucleus, maintaining a relationship in size and quantity”.
If it is about returning to the country with vehicles and motorcycles its cost may not exceed $34,000 and $10,625, respectively.
The assets may be transferred to another person before the term of five years from the return, only in the event of the death of the returned Ecuadorian or that “Ecuador was plunged into crisis, serious commotion or national emergency.”
The importation of work equipment will continue to be up to $68,000 per equipment in each importation.
