Ecuador is in “maximum alert,” said the government on April 19, after an intelligence report was disclosed that alerts on an alleged murder attempt against the reelected president Daniel Noboa
A report of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Ecuador, dated Thursday and signed by the Army Colonel Rolando Proaño, ensures that after the re -election of Daniel Noboa last weekend, “transfer has begun of hitmen from Mexico and other countries to Ecuador, in order to carry out terrorist attacks against the President of the Republic” and its closest officials.
“We condemn and strongly repudiate any attempt to attack the life of the President of the Republic, State authorities and public officials,” said the Ministry of Government in a statement released early Saturday, hours after the social networks filtration of the military document.
The report warns of “the planning of possible terrorist attacks” in road infrastructure, banks and state institutions. He also mentions the realization of “violent” protests in the country and recommends strengthening the security scheme of the president.

The Noboa government responsible for the alleged assassination plan for “criminal structures, in complicity with political sectors defeated at the polls”, without giving details or names.
