The Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, dropped 0.8% from July to August this year.
The information is from the GDP Monitor, released today (19), in Rio de Janeiro, by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
According to the survey, GDP grew 3.7% compared to August 2021 and 3.3% in the moving quarter ended in August 2022, compared to the same period last year.

For FGV, the fall in economic activity from July to August is associated with retractions in industry and services. From the perspective of demand, household consumption fell by 0.5% in the period, while gross fixed capital formation (investments) grew by 0.7%.
Exports also advanced (0.6%), while imports dropped 0.3% from July to August.
