Economists surveyed by the IMEF estimate that GDP will grow 1.9% this year

In this survey, the most optimistic forecast is 2.5% and the one with the lowest growth is 1.0%, the IMEF specified.

It will be next March 15, when the IMEF will give a press conference and report the reasons why it has lowered the perspective.

For 2023, an estimate of 2.1% of real GDP is still maintained for the second consecutive month, while the inflation forecast remains at 3.8% for the fourth consecutive month.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the inflation rate increased to 5.0%, from 4.4% estimated in February.

In this estimate, the most optimistic expectation places inflation at 4.2%, while the most optimistic one places it at 7.0%.

It should be noted that 80% of the participants chose to increase their estimate.

For the reference interest rate of the Mexican central bank, the members of the Committee increased their projection to 7.25%, compared to the 6.75% estimated in February.
