Economist Ernesto Bazán: “It is appropriate that the MEF takes back control of transfers of funds

Economist Ernesto Bazán, in an interview with Radio Panama, referred to the budget modifications presented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

He considers it appropriate for the MEF to take back control of the transfers of budget items, since this helps to spend better but does not resolve the fiscal deficit. He stated that the transfers of budget items only create disorder and generate a vice and waste of the budget.

Spending restraint is insufficient, Bazán said, adding that the budget is inflated, plus the debt to suppliers.
