Prime Minister Alberto Otárola announced a series of projects and initiatives for the economic recovery of the country’s regions through the unlocking of emblematic projects.
In La Libertad, Chavimochic III and the completion of the Palo Redondo Dam stand out, and in Arequipa, the Majes Siguas II project, comprising investments of US$715 million and US$654 million, respectively, and the potential to generate 180,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Regarding the Apurímac region, he mentioned the construction of the Andahuaylas airport and the Abancay hospital, while as for Ancash, he said that “the construction of the Level 3-1 Hospital in Huaraz and the trans-Andean longitudinal highway will be promoted, in agreement with the Antamina mining company, through the works for taxes system.”
In the same region it will also be on the agenda to resume the project Chinese.
Efforts will be added to the aforementioned in Piura and Tumbes, promoting in the first the reactivation of the Alto Piura project, and in the second the execution of the defenses of the Tumbes river and the start-up of the Máncora health center.
SOUTH MINING CORRIDOR
Otárola also advanced a rapid execution investment financing for Optimization, Marginal Expansion, Rehabilitation and Replacement (IOARR) located in areas of high social conflict such as the Southern Mining Corridorbridges and others.
“An investment of 731 million soles will be applied to a portfolio of 474 projects of this type,” said the premier.
Of this amount, S/506 million will be for the construction of bridges, S/108 million will be for cultural and sports projects, and S/44.9 million will be for works in the Health sector.
In addition, S/37.8 million will be allocated to the Education sector.
