Economic keys that will mark the week in America

Claves económicas que marcarán la semana en América 

USA publishes the third and last calculation of the evolution of the gross domestic product (GDP) during the first quarter of 2022, in a week in which employment data will also be known in Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia.

These are the economic keys that will mark the week in America:

MONDAY 27

1-Meeting of the Ministers of Public Works of Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Paraguay in La Paz.

2-Mexico publishes the trade balance for May.

TUESDAY 28

1-The Argentine statistics institute publishes data on the balance of payments and external debt for the first quarter of 2022, which at the end of last year was 266.74 billion dollars.

2-The unions of the Social Security Fund march to the presidency of Panama to demand measures that alleviate the economic burden of the population in the midst of the fuel crisis.

3-Mexico publishes the unemployment rate for May.

WEDNESDAY 29

1-The United States Bureau of Economic Analysis publishes the third and last calculation of the evolution of the gross domestic product (GDP) during the first quarter of 2022, after announcing in May a drop in economic activity of 0.4%.

2-The National Statistics Institute of Chile (INE) publishes national employment data for the month of May.

3-The Cerro Dominador consortium, which is the first concentrated solar power plant in Latin America and is located in the middle of the Chilean Atacama desert, explains at a press conference its new plans for expansion and growth in terms of renewable energies.

THURSDAY 30

1-The Ministry of Labor discloses the number of formal jobs generated by Brazil in May. Likewise, the average unemployment rate for the quarter ending in May is published.

2-The Central Bank discloses the deficit of Brazil’s public accounts and the relationship between debt and gross domestic product (GDP) until May.

3-The Argentine statistics institute publishes the monthly estimator of economic activity for last April, which will serve as an advance to prepare the GDP figures for the second quarter and which in March had shown a growth of 4.8% compared to the same month of 2021, the thirteenth consecutive year-on-year increase.

4-The Board of Directors of the Banco de la República (Colombian monetary authority), meets to review interest rates, which have been on the rise since September 2021 to contain inflationary pressures.

5-The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) discloses the labor market data for May in Colombia.

6-The National Institute of Statistics of Chile (INE), the largest copper producer in the world, publishes the industrial and copper production for the month of May.

FRIDAY 1

1-The Ministry of Economy discloses the result of the Brazilian trade balance in June.

2-The Bank of Mexico discloses the data on remittances for May 2022 and the survey on expectations of the private sector for June 2022.

3-The Central Bank of Chile publishes the Monthly Indicator of Economic Activity (Imacec) for May, which is considered an advance of GDP and includes 91% of the goods and services produced in the country.

4-The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) of Peru publishes the inflation data for June.
