It will be known if the negotiations work.
We are at the time of knowing what this stage will conclude. My perspective is optimistic. However, we have to wait for the decisions made by President Trump with his team
Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy.
Ebrard said that conversations with their counterparts in Washington have been “intense and complex”, but trusts that the country will be well freed. Although he avoided confirming whether there will be a reduction in the 30%tariff.
The official stressed that Mexico maintains a solid commercial position in front of the world, even with tariff pressures. He recalled that 84% of bilateral trade with the United States is not subject to tariff, and that the agreement reached previously offers very favorable conditions.
“On Friday we will have the results of this negotiation, of this stage, but the position today of Mexico is quite good.”
While awaiting the response of the White House, the federal government advances in its commitment to build a new artificial intelligence language of its own.
Ebrard presented it as part of the strategy to gain relevance in the new global economic order, where talent and data will define development. But, for now, the focus is in Washington, where Trump’s decision will mark the tone of the next commercial chapter.
