Music, information and news for listeners. To celebrate National Radio Day, the Brazil Communication Company (EBC) launches, this Sunday (25), the new version of site EBC Radios. Also to commemorate the event, the 100 songs classified for the 100 Years of Radio Music Festival in Brazil will be announced.
National Radio Day is remembered annually in allusion to the birth date of Edgar Roquette-Pinto, considered the father of broadcasting in the country. Physician, professor, writer, anthropologist, ethnologist and essayist, Roquette-Pinto founded the Rádio Sociedade do Rio de Janeiro, later called Radio MEC after being donated, in 1936, to the Ministry of Education.
As of today (25th), the EBC Radios brings a new audio consumption experience on the internet. With a lighter look, intuitive navigation and new features, the site highlights the audio content of MEC radios and National as protagonists of the page. The objective is to offer a more modern platform, where the public can listen to content on demand.
When browsing the site, listeners will follow the broadcasters’ programming live, listen to the entirety or excerpts of favorite recorded programs, or even access playlists and podcasts. On the new page, the public gets to know the production of radio stations in a single environment, totally dedicated to the stations.
Music Festival
In the wake of the celebrations, the 100 songs selected by the radio jury after the registration period for the 2022 edition of the Music Festival will also be announced. The selected works are already starting to play in the broadcasters’ programming MEC and National.
At this stage, listeners will be able to vote, until October 10th, by category, for their favorite song on Music Festival website. The one with the most votes will qualify for the semifinals.
It is the first time that the Festival unites the Radio MEC and National Radiotwo traditional public broadcasters managed by EBC. The objective is to discover new musical talents and stimulate the launch of unpublished projects.
