In recent days they recreated the pain and humiliation of Jesus Christ, through the viacrucis of the 12 stations, but since last night, in the Pascual vigil carried out in the Cathedral, the Catholic parishioners waited with hope with hope of the victory of the Messiah over death. Today, Sunday of Easter, this time the Mass is to celebrate life, at schedules 07:00, 09:00, 11:00, 18:00 and 19:30.
For their part, the members of the Evangelical Church were summoned to the Stadium of the First of May, as part of the Alba cult ceremony, organized by the Evangelical Christian Association (ACE), and which lasted from eight o’clock on Saturday night, until six in the morning of this Sunday, April 20, with the aim of raising an altar of worship and praise.
“Depending on the religious orientation, some celebrations are made per Holy Week. On Friday Jesus was crucified at three in the afternoon and on Sunday it resurrects. We evangelicals do a cult of dawn on Saturday night, which is usually done in the stadium, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus,” said Pastor Ernesto Rosales, of the Church Casa de Prayer.
He added that today, at 10 in the morning, there is also a central cult in prayer house facilities, on Japan Avenue, with musicians.
Recording days
In the days before Easter Sunday, Catholic and evangelical believers had various activities.
Among the Roman apostolic, last Holy Wednesday marked the end of Lent and the beginning of Easter, with penance recommendations, as an opportunity to reconcile with God.
On Holy Thursday, the Chry Mass was held, and on Friday the passion of Christ was remembered, through vivid viacrucis, in the churches of the city center and neighborhoods. A ceremony of worship to the cross was also held.
The same Friday, from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the meditation of the 7 words of Jesus was carried out.
Vigil and retreats
During the Pascual vigil, Catholics held the light or fire, when the priest blesses the fire outside the temple and turns on the Pascual Cirio. These liturgies remember the history of salvation and the faithful also renew the baptismal promises.
“The Easter of Christ is the victory of love over evil, of mercy on sin,” was one of Pope Francis’s messages.
Parallel to the other celebrations, religious retreats were also made. One of these was that of the Salesiana Mujurina work, commemorating the most important moments of Holy Week. The Don Bosco school staff also had a recollection activity.
At a prayer house, more than five thousand young people retreated to the fifth creation, by Warnes, to participate in the event called Rapjuve. “We celebrated the victory of Christ with a retirement of young people,” Rosales explained.
