Easter 2022 begins operations

The Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) together with other institutions began this Monday the Holy Week 2022 operation with the aim of preventing, mitigating, and responding to disasters.

In a ceremony held at the General Headquarters of the Santo Domingo Fire Department, the general of this institution José Luis Frómeta Herasme and the deputy mayor Stalin Alcántara, led this event together with different representatives of the Civil Defense, Red Cross and other state agencies. Also management team of Urban Cleaning, Environmental Management, Municipal Police and Special Projects.

Different security, care, prevention and cleanliness operations will be deployed before this Easter holiday to safeguard the security and assets of the capital’s population.

With the participation of several of his response units, General Frómeta Herasme explained for his part that three surveillance points will be established to deal with incidents involving the public during Holy Week, starting from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday at 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the usual departure and return of citizens.

These points will be located at:

– Park at the head of the Mella bridge (Bicycle bridge), west part.

– Under the dry bridge of the distributor of Av. 30 de Mayo and Luperón, South part.

– CBDN Autopista Duarte tent, next to Plaza Duarte, east sidewalk.

All the points will have emergency personnel and vehicles at the scheduled times, for a faster response and proper to the movement of these dates. In this way, start the Easter 2022 operations with the intention of increasing the response to the citizens of the National District, in a period where the number of incidents is increasing.

Director of the Municipal Policel, Lieutenant Colonel ERD Iván Gómez, announced that in order to preserve the safety of the citizen, has had 500 agents deployed in different parts of the city and about 8 detachments that are enabled in the three constituencies. He also reported that the Güibia, Montesino and Fort San Gil beaches are closed.

For his part, Alex García, director of the Civil Defense for the National Districtreported that said entity will have 195 volunteers throughout the National District, 4 aid stations and a spa stall in La Zurza. Likewise, he said that in a joint effort with the National Integrated Information System (SINI) they have had a QR bar code for scanning the aid stations in the city and at the national level, as well as the beaches and spas that will be open. and closed.

The Red Cross will have approximately 300 volunteers and 40 aid stations in the capitalas reported by Altagracia Capellán, director of Relief and Risk Action of the entity.

In Plaza Güibia, the Festival of Traditional Games will be held with varied dynamics, from 9 in the morning to 12 noon; while this same festival will be held in the Eugenio María de Hostos Park, from 4 to 6 in the afternoon.

In it South Lookout Park (specifically in Plazoleta Núñez de Cáceres) will hold a chichigua workshop and contest, which will include materials and an instructor. The schedule of the same will be from 4 to 6 in the afternoon.

On Holy Sunday in Plaza Güibia there will be a domino tournament, from 9 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.

Vice Mayor Stalin Alcántara reiterated to the public that from this committee they will be deployed throughout the city to preserve their safety and assist them at all times, and called for caution in this holiday.
