A 5.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Ica on Wednesday, July 24, at 5:40 a.m., according to a report by the Peruvian Geophysical Institute (IGP).
According to the latest information from the National Seismology Center (Censis) of the IGP, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 73 kilometers southwest of Pisco, in Ica.
The tremor had a depth of 34 kilometers and an intensity IV in Pisco.

The day before, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the city of Lima, according to the Peruvian Geophysical Institute (IGP). The tremor occurred at 12:34 pm and its epicenter was located 15 kilometers southwest of Chilca, Cañete.
In addition, the earthquake had a depth of 50 kilometers and was felt with an intensity of grade IV in Chilca.
