Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, announced the purchase of the social platform.
Colombia News.
The South African billionaire Elon Musk has practically everything in place to become the owner of the digital platform Twitter.
Finally, the company accepted the offer of the richest man in the world and has given in to his claims, a business that would be settled in the coming months.
The cost of the transactions is around 44 billion dollars.
Musk, who also owns SpaceX, recounted the reasons for looking at Twitter and wanting this company to be his property.
“Well, I think it’s very important that there is an inclusive arena for free speech,” Musk said. “Twitter has become a kind of de facto public square, so it is really important that people have both the reality and the perception that they can speak freely within the limits of the law,” he said in an interview with TED.
The businessman stressed that his purchase of Twitter has no economic motivation, that is, he does not plan to get richer by controlling said social network.
Instead, if you would like some modifications to come into this platform. For example, the addition of a button that allows you to edit a tweet, something that is currently impossible. If a user writes a text and makes a mistake in any letter or word, they have no choice but to delete said publication. It cannot be corrected.
Another thing that I would be willing to modify is the issue of the prohibitions and drastic sanctions that the platform currently has, such as that of former US President Donald Trump, who was suspended for “risk of greater incitement to violence.”
How much would the social network cost for a Colombian?
Well, due to the millionaire investment that Elon Musk plans on Twitter, Internet users have compared this large amount with the monetary capacities that a Colombian who earns the minimum wage would have to make the same investment.
This, knowing that logically Elon Musk is an “astronomically millionaire” man.
If a Colombian who earns a million pesos were offered to buy said social network, he would have to invest 14 million years to achieve his goal.
This calculation was made by the Twitter page ‘Colombian Coins’ and many reacted.
44,000,000,000 dollars is equivalent to 173,164,200,000,000 Colombian pesos.
