EAGLES KEEP FLYING HIGH AND SWEEP THE ASTRONAUTS IN A SERIES

The Metropolitan Eagles achieved their third consecutive victory by dominating Los Astronautas de Los Santos by a score of 8 runs to 2 and maintaining their undefeated record in the 2022 Probeis season in a match held at Rod Carew Stadium.

Once again the pitching staff of Las Águilas looked dominant with starter Christian Allegretti and Gilberto Chu who tied up the batters of the Santeña troop for 8 innings without allowing scores and were supported on offense with two 3-run rallies in the sixth and ninth inning to ensure the triumph of the metropolitans.

Allegretti pitched 4.2 innings where he only allowed 3 hits and struck out 2, followed by Gilberto Chu who continued his good work by only allowing one hit in 3.2 innings pitched, he struck out one and awarded three walks, it wasn’t until the ninth inning that The Astronauts were able to score their only two runs in the game.

The Eagles scored a run in the third inning, one in the fourth, three in the sixth and 3 in the ninth, with Angel Basabe as the main figures, who hit a hit in three turns with three RBIs; Carlos Mosquera who hit two hits in four turns, including a double and brought 3 runs to the register and Eduardo Vaughan with two hits, with two runs scored and two walks.

The victory was accredited by Gilberto Chu for Las Águilas and José Amaya was charged with the defeat by Los Astronautas who lost the 3 games of this series, while the Metropolitans are undefeated (3-0), this Monday is a rest date and they resume the activity of the Professional Baseball League this Tuesday the 13th when the Águilas and Astronautas face each other again at Rod Carew starting at 7 p.m.
