“We have been working for about three months with various business sectors,” stressed the national president.

Duque also expressed that he has had conversations with workers throughout the national territory to listen to them; thus also deliberating on a proposal to increase the minimum wage.

“We have gone through very difficult times in 2020, the economy is recovering dynamically; We are going to have the highest economic growth of this century and we see a great desire from businessmen to do something that is significant and is a strong message for the Colombian people, “he said.

It should be clarified that the negotiating table for the minimum wage in Colombia has been sitting since the beginning of December and there has been speculation about the percentage increase to which the minimum wage should reach by 2022.

According to President Duque, it would be the highest real increase in the last 40 years.
