Dupla As Marcianas hosts the program Canto e Sabor do Brasil

TV Brasil presents the special participation of the country duo As Marcianas in the program Singing and Flavor of Brazil this Sunday (18), at 11 am. The guests sing classics from the duo’s repertoire such as the hits Because we fought, Because of you and love that has no way. Paulinho del Ribeiro still declaims embittered and the artists sing the end of the song.

While the singers perform their main compositions, the presenter prepares a meal. The recipe is a country meat with heart of palm and mushroom slices in Madeira sauce. The dish is made on the old wood stove in the farm’s colonial kitchen.

Female reference in the sertanejo

With more than four decades of experience in the country music universe, As Marcianas make history in the genre. The partnership is one of the main female representatives and has an assured space in a segment that, at the time of the beginning of their careers, was mostly male.

The duo reached stardom at the beginning of the project, in the 1980s, by releasing hits outstanding performances and conquer gold and platinum records. Their own style has always been one of the singers’ differentials. The white clothes also characterize the performance on the country’s stages.

Having been on the road for a long time, the work has already had several formations. The premiere of As Marcianas brought together Celina Sant’Angelo and her sister Ivone Sant’Angelo, in 1981. Daughters of singer João Mineiro, from the duo with Marciano, they presented works that cross generations and are remembered to this day.

The current partnership between Celina and Adriana Bastos has been consolidated for almost two decades since the first half of the 2000s. The Marcianas keep the country music tradition alive and honor the legacy they spread throughout Brazil.

Shown weekly on TV Brazil, on Sundays, at 11 am, the program Singing and Flavor of Brazil is presented by Paulinho del Ribeiro. The attraction has good national and country music, typical regional cuisine, poems chosen by national authors, curiosities and riches of Brazilian folklore. The production is in its second season on the public broadcaster’s programming.

In the kitchen of a colonial farm, the presenter – who is also responsible for the creation and artistic direction of the program – receives great names in Brazilian music for lunch and a relaxed chat. Paulinho del Ribeiro himself prepares the food in a typical wood stove.
