Due to the expiration of vaccines, Paraguay could lose about US$ 3 million

After the failed Covax mechanism, Paraguay is about to lose some US$3 million, as the available vaccines against Covid-19 are about to expire.

The total number of doses is about 600,000 that are distributed throughout the country and that are currently at the limit of their use date, which occur between July and August.

Héctor Castro, director of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), during the last press conference, explained that the lowest cost that Paraguay paid for the anticovid vaccine was between US$5 to US$6, per dose.

And despite vaccination strategies that now desperately seek to inoculate as many people as possible, the national government was completely wrong in its tactics by negotiating unproductive agreements with useless vaccine supply systems.
