SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Labor reminded the country that next Monday, May 2, it will be “non-working”, to commemorate the Labor Day.
The original date of this celebration is every May 1st, but since that day fell on a Sunday, it was moved to Monday so that the workers can benefit.
Similarly, there is no work on Thursday, June 16, the day on which the religious festival Corpus Christi is celebrated, it is not changed.
The institution also reported that the day of the Restoration of the Republic, Tuesday, August 16, will be a holiday in accordance with Article 35 of the Constitution and Sentence number 14 of February 20, 2008 of the Supreme Court of Justice, (no change ).
Other Holidays
The day of the Mercedes, Saturday, September 24, and Sunday, November 6, the day of the Constitution, will be celebrated on their corresponding dates.
While Sunday December 25, Christmas Day or the birth of Jesus, is not changed.
