Given the high cases of covid-19 in the district of La Chorrera, the mayor Tomas Velásquez has decided not to hold the Christmas parade, since they are aware that this type of event brings together hundreds of people and it is better to avoid an increase greater than the cases.
“We have evaluated the Christmas parade this year and due to the high contagion that is taking place, where last week there were 1,300 and this week it could exceed 2,000 cases, in two weeks this could get out of hand and this is what is not I want and responsibly we are suspending the Christmas parade” said Velásquez
I also indicate that the Mother’s Day activity will take place this Tuesday, December 6 because it was already scheduled and that the Christmas lights in Libertador Park will also take place as scheduled for December 14.
In the latest epidemiological report from the Ministry of Health, a total of 6,435 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the country, with a positivity rate of 18.8%.
