Due to a union assembly carried out by workers of Aerolineas Argentinas grouped in the Association of Airline Pilots (APLA), delays and cancellations of flights occur in the airport Metropolitan Jorge Newbery.
According to the authorities of the air terminal, in principle there would be 5 flights canceled and more than 18 delayed; however, it is not ruled out that more inconveniences will be generated with the scheduled trips in the airport.
Although the landings in the airportand are carried out normally, the problems arise with the departures of the flights, for which there are about 2,000 passengers affected.
From the pilots’ union they explained that “having overcome the Mandatory Conciliation, in the absence of superior proposals to resolve the negotiations for salary recomposition, Framework Agreement, and the current Aviation Policy and its impact on our activity, we continue with our Fight Plan ” .
In this regard, representatives of Aerolineas Argentinas pointed out that “this forceful measure, with a clear political content, finds no reason to exist in the working conditions of those represented by APLA, but has as its sole objective to condition the Government’s commercial and economic policy. , which has sustained the sources of work and wages throughout the pandemic.”
They also added that “regarding the salary claim, it should be remembered that the last parity is in force until September and that a negotiating table is formed, whose next meeting has already been called for Wednesday.”
In this same context, they added that “both the establishment of a regulatory framework for air fares and the definition of a collective agreement by activity are not within the powers of this company, which is why the measure of force implemented is irrational and unjustifiable” in the air terminal.
The pilots claim the linking of more personnel
Just as the pilots demand a salary adjustment, they demand more rest time and the incorporation of personnel to supply the company’s activities.
In this regard, the airline stated that “as is public knowledge, through decree 246/22, the National Government restricted the entry of personnel into the public sector, of which Aerolineas Argentinas is an integral part. However, according to the outlined fleet plan, the company is carrying out the corresponding procedure in order to comply with current regulations.”
