Midfielder Duda Sampaio, from Internacional, and goalkeeper Natascha, from Flamengo, were called up by coach Pia Sundhage earlier this Sunday afternoon (3). The duo will join the group of the Brazilian women’s soccer team that will compete in the Copa America in Colombia, between the 8th and 30th of July.
The competition will classify the top two directly for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (France), while the top three will be at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, played in Australia and New Zealand.

The teams that are in fourth and fifth positions will play a playoff with other teams worth two spots for the World Cup. The teams that finish in third, fourth and fifth positions qualify for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago (Chile). The Brazilian debut in Copa América is scheduled for July 9, against Argentina from 1:30 pm (Brasilia time).
Duda Sampaio, summoned on the FIFA Date in June, will replace striker Gabi Nunes, from Madrid CFF, who suffered swelling in the femoral biceps muscle of her left thigh. Goalkeeper Natascha will take the place of Letícia Izidoro, from Corinthians, who was cut after an injury to the medial collateral ligament in her left knee.
