Rodríguez said that the former president has not committed any crime. “Whatever he has done is a constitutional violation. (…) what there is is a judicialization of politics,” he said. It is worth mentioning that Rodríguez was a lawyer for Aníbal Torresformer premier and who was also found guilty last Thursday for the failed coup.
Right paves the way for elections
The former president of Judiciary considered that the right was healthy and what happened to Pedro Castillo and Guillermo Bermejo was to prevent their candidacy, however, he was sure that in the second instance they would be released. However, he stressed that they have already been harmed because they will not be able to be candidates.
“The right is maneuvering so that the path is clear, but the people are wise. The people know that they arbitrarily sentenced Guillermo Bermejo who had the intention of 7% in the south. The right does not want people with popular support,” he said.

Rodríguez also spoke about Vicente Alanocawho was displaced by Ronald Atencio in internal elections of the leftist alliance Venceremos. He hinted that the Puno university professor was not up to the task of being a presidential candidate.
“(They chose Ronald Atencio) because they saw in his partner (Vicente Alanoca) a very hesitant temperament and he was neither firm nor categorical against the neoliberal model. Having a position that is not very firm, we would not be able to go to the electoral campaign in good conditions,” he said.
