On the occasion of the commemoration of the 149th anniversary of the death of Patricio Juan Pablo Duarte and of the 184 years of the foundation of the Secret Society La Trinitaria, the Duartian Institute invites the commemorative events that began yesterday.
The celebrations began with a floral offering deposited at the altar of the homeland of the Independence Park, headed by the president of the agency, Wilson Gómez Ramírez, managers, members, collaborators and representatives of institutions of the country.
Gómez Ramírez, at the meeting he remembered the international community again at the Haitian crisis and deplored how they wanted to stain Dominican sovereignty, accusing it of racist and xenophobic. “We are a town that has resisted introspections, facing and leaving victorious at all times.”
He compared Duarte’s firmness for defending sovereignty, as well as his absolute faith in which in the Dominican people there is a better citizen and a fair and happy homeland as he dreamed.
