Salcedo.– The National Police andn collaboration withto National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), carried out an operation in the municipality of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province, which resulted in the intervention of an alleged drug distribution point, the arrest of two people and the seizure of illicit substances and other objects related to drug trafficking. .
The detainees were Francisco Javier Cosme López, 22 years old, and Roselio Peralta Ferreiras, 38 years old.
According to the police report, both tried to flee with other individuals when they realized the presence of the authorities, however, they were captured on Mella Street, where a drug distribution point supposedly operated.
During the operation, the authorities confiscated Cosme López 6.1 grams of marijuana, while Peralta Ferreiras a portion of cocaine weighing 800 milligrams was seized.
In addition, at the site they were found 23 servings of a white powder, presumed to be cocaine, weighing approximately 61.1 grams, a strainer and RD$250 in cash.
The detainees and the evidence seized were made available to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
