The Board of Directors of UTE approved last Thursday a regulatory amendment regarding the rural electrification.
From now on, the producer who wants to have a connection associated with an electric pump can do so without the requirement of having an associated home on the property.
The representative of the National Party on the entity’s Board of Directors, Felipe Algorta, explained that in this way a water well can be reactivated or a new one made, and have the necessary energy in a location far from the establishment. This always within a distance of 1,500 linear meters from the existing network, which is established by the standard.
The connection cost is borne by the company up to a length of 500 metersAlgorta informed The Observer. Then a price scale is established that varies every 200 meters and up to 1,500 meters, and which is calculated in UBT (Basic Rate Unit).
The modification was claimed for several years by producers from different sectors. Consultations had multiplied in recent months due to the drought affecting the country. More details can be consulted with the company in its different commercial service channels.
