HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO RENEW A DRIVER’S LICENSE?

Through Law 769 of 2002, Art 22 modified by Art 197 of Decree 019 of 2012, it was established that for drivers of private service vehicles, the procedure must be done every ten years, if the person is less than 60 years old. .

If the citizen is between 60 and 80 years old, the process must be carried out every five years, and for those over 80 years of age the renewal must be done annually.

In the case of the public service license, the renewal is every three years. However, the Congress of the Republic, through Law 2161, granted an additional two-year term to licenses that expire between January 1 and 31, 2022, that is, until December 31, 2023.

Licenses that expire as of February 1, 2022, must be renewed according to the expiration date. The Ministry of Transport extends an invitation to citizens to renew their driving license in good time.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO RENEW A DRIVER’S LICENSE?

No. As long as it is done in the periods established in Law 769 of 2002.

WHERE IS THE RENEWAL PROCEDURE CARRIED OUT?
