Truck drivers and platform drivers demonstrate at Central and various access points, in protest against the high price of fuel. The first group begins an indefinite strike, so circulation will be more difficult than usual all week.
The Truck Drivers Association of Paraguay and other unions in the same field are mobilized in more than 40 points of the country, as part of an indefinite national strike, until they obtain a favorable response to their claims.
The first request is the elimination of the Selective Consumption Tax (ISC), with which they are convinced that the reduction in fuel prices will be achieved. However, Taxation has already repeatedly clarified that there is no direct relationship between the final price and this tax, so even if it is abolished, it will not have the desired effect.
The drivers also request that the fixing of prices be an attribution of the Government through Petropar, something that does not happen today either.
Some points where truckers will travel are: Route II, at the Rubén Dumot racetrack, Avda. Acceso Sur and Acceso Norte, at the entrance to Limpio, among other points.
For their part, platform drivers announced the blockade of the Petropar plant in Villa Elisa, also in protest against the latest increases in fuel prices.
