Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that from 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday a scheduled intervention will be carried out on a section of the expressway of the kilometer 9 from the Duarte highway, in the direction of Cibao–Santo Domingo (West–East).
The entity indicated in a statement that the closure is part of the improvement and paving work of this strategic road, which connects the capital with Santiago and the entire northern region.

To organize traffic during the work, the MOPC will have the support of agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett) and technical personnel from the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (Intrant), who will be in charge of managing detours and guaranteeing road safety in the area.

The ministry also notified that this Wednesday the 19th, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, a nighttime intervention will be carried out on the overpass on Avenida 27 de Febrero and Tiradentes, intended for maintenance and structural reinforcement work.
Both works were scheduled at night to minimize the impact during peak traffic hours and will be carried out in a staggered manner until completion.
The MOPC urged drivers and citizens to collaborate with these technical sessions aimed at strengthening the safety and quality of the country’s road system.
