The Dominican Republic has seized almost triple the drug in the last five years than in the previous 16, according to a comparative report of operational results prepared by State security agencies.
According to the document “Statistical Comparison 2004–2020 and Current Management”, between August 16, 2004 and August 16, 2020, the authorities confiscated 77,526.11 kilograms of drugs, while between August 16, 2020 and October 20, 2025, They seized 227,824.08 kilogramswhich represents an increase of 194%.
If we add the 67,373.79 kilograms of seizures international events carried out with Dominican collaboration, the total exceeds 295 tonsthe largest volume recorded in the history of the persecution of drug trafficking in the country.

Accumulated results 2020–2025
The report details that during the last five years and two months, the State security agencies achieved the following results:
- Drugs seized: 227,824.08 kilograms
- Seizures international with Dominican participation: 67,373.79 kilograms
- Firearms occupied: 1,648
- Occupied vehicles: 13,695
- Occupied vessels: 144
- Seized properties: 396
- Confiscated money: US$13,023,158.64 and RD$192,229,947.00
- Detained people: 187,829 (99% men and 1% women)
- Extradited or deported: 355 people
Sustained operational growth
In the period between 2004 and 2020, the seizures nationals totaled 160,450.29 kilograms, while in the most recent five-year period the figure increased to 227,824.08 kilograms, which is equivalent to an annual average of 45 tons seizedcompared to 4.8 tons per year in the previous period.
