Santo Domingo.– Over the course of the year 2025the authorities managed to confiscate 48.3 tons of different narcotic substancesconsolidated the leadership of Dominican Republic in the region of Caribbean in the fight against drug trafficking, money laundering and other related crimes.
Of the total seized, 31,294 kilograms were used in operations carried out within the countrywhile another 17,041 kilograms were confiscated with the support of allied countriesas a result of the international cooperation and the exchange of intelligence against transnational organized crime networks.
The seizures were carried out by the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD)in coordination with the Armed forcesthe Attorney General’s Officethe General Directorate of Customs (DGA)State intelligence agencies and international organizations, as part of the joint strategies promoted by the Dominican Government.
Details of drugs occupied in 2025
According to official DNCD statistics, during operations deployed in airports, ports, coasts, borders and other strategic points of the countrythe authorities seized 19,586 kilograms of cocaine, 11,564 kilograms of marijuana, 121.47 kilograms of crack and 21.53 kilograms of other substances, including ecstasy, hashish, cough and methamphetamines.

These figures represent one of the largest volumes of drugs seized in the history of the Dominican Republic, reflecting the strengthening of the operational and intelligence capacity of the authorities.
Arrests, seized assets and extraditions
During the interventions carried out in 2025, the authorities 46,367 people were arrested linked to different crimes related to drug trafficking and related criminal activities. Likewise, they were seized 404 firearms, 18 boatsdozens of outboard motors, 2,082 vehiclesradio navigation equipment, communication radios and cell phones.
In financial matters, they were confiscated US$58,408 US dollars and RD$34,514,785 Dominican pesosin addition to other assets used by criminal structures.
The authorities also reported that, with the support of the United States Marshalsthe extradition and deportation of 84 fugitives required by international justice, strengthening search and capture operations at the national and international level.
Through a statement, the Government detailed that the figures of seizures, arrests and extraditions, as well as the dismantling of drug trafficking networks, show the commitment of President Luis Abinader to decisively confront organized crime and protect national security.
For his part, the president of the DNCD, Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloahighlighted the work of the men and women who make up the anti-drug organization and assured that will continue to strengthen joint strategies with other State institutions and international allies to combat and eradicate trafficking in controlled substances.
