Dr. Rogelio Moreno, who is a psychiatrist and therapist, helped us understand corruption a little from a scientific perspective, affirming that this is a widespread problem in society.
He added that sometimes it is the corrupt who are in government and their public work makes them more evident, and their actions are more disastrous due to the impact they have.
He stressed that corrupt thinking is throughout society. “It is we who choose and allow them to be there (politicians), so it is a complicity between the private and public sectors,” she said.
He explained that this psychological evolution depends on the social environment in which we are. “Some people, due to very severe upbringing problems, trauma, neglect or abuse, become people with narcissistic or antisocial personality disorders, these people are the ones who are in a position to abuse the public system for their own benefit,” he stressed.
The specialist assured that when these people get together they put a lot of pressure on the system, they create insecurity in society and others have no choice but to join the proposal to survive it, because of insecurity, they are like “corrupt secondary”.
