The president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Hector Porcellahighlighted the strategic advances of the Dominican Republic in terms of air connectivity and opportunities to strengthen trade and air transport relations between the country and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During the business table between both countries at the Convention Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Porcella highlighted that the country has established itself as a leader in air connectivity in the Caribbean, thanks to its airport infrastructure, which includes eight international airports and 11 national airlines that operate international flights to various cities around the world.

Furthermore, he highlighted the implementation of the open skiesa strategy of President Luis Abinader to promote air connectivity and create a favorable environment for the development of business in the aviation field.
He also mentioned the investment that is being made in the Punta Cana Airportwhich will become the largest logistics hub in the region, generating significant opportunities for transportation operations in the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
Likewise, he highlighted that since the Dominican Republic connects with more than 150 destinations, operated by more than 375 airlines, which reinforces the country’s position as a strategic center of air connectivity regional.
The event concluded with the mutual commitment of the authorities to continue working to strengthen relations between the Dominican Republic and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, exploring new opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors that benefit.
