Dr. Marta Roa is fined $6,000 for violating health regulations related to vaccination

The General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), sanctioned Dr. Marta María Roa De Gracia de Salterio with $6,000, for having violated current health regulations on public health by making statements in alternative media attributing to vaccination against Covid-19 deaths in children, adults and health professionals without providing scientific medical evidence, among other faults.

Through Resolution No. 0246 of February 14, 2022, issued by the General Directorate of Health, it is specified that among the health regulations violated by Dr. Roa, numerals 8, 9 and 10 of article 85 of Law 66 of November 10 stand out. of 1947, modified by Law 40 of November 16, 2016, which dictates the Sanitary Code of the Republic of Panama.

By hindering, with her statements, the vaccination actions established by the health authority, Dr. Roa has violated article 20 of Law No. 48 of December 5, 2007, which regulates the vaccination process in the Republic of Panama.

In addition, it is indicated that the pre-appointed violated article 9 of Executive Decree No. 64 of January 28, 2020, through which necessary measures were adopted in the face of the health threat due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus defined by the Minsa.

The Resolution adds that Dr. Roa violated Resolution No. 1420 of June 1, 2020, which establishes the mandatory use of masks, by inciting the population not to use the chinstrap and personally not to use it, as there is evidence (video), during a protest at the Supreme Court of Justice.

The Sanctioning Resolution maintains that the present case begins with a report from the Minsa Public Relations office in which unauthorized statements in the media and social networks given by Roa on November 15, 2021 are provided as evidence. , November 16, 2021 and January 21, 2022.

In these statements, the doctor encourages the population not to get vaccinated against Covid-19; she assures that there are more than a thousand deaths due to the vaccine in Panama; that there are deaths of children and adults due to the vaccine; that healthy people are dying after receiving the vaccine; that there is death among health professionals who attend hospitals, among other indications given without providing scientific evidence.
