Dr. Lourdes Moreno affirms that there has been a slight increase in cases of Covid-19 in the country

The national head of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Lourdes Moreno, assured that there has been a slight increase in cases of Covid-19 in the country.

“This increase has occurred since April 12, 5.5%, on the 14th, 6.3%, which is the maximum we have had these days, and this may be due to the fact that in one way or another, people see that it has freed the use of the mask in open places, because they get confused and also bring that same situation to closed spaces,” he explained.

It was thought that there would be a greater rebound in schools, “but the boys have given a true show of conscience. There have been cases, but not to the point of infecting the entire classroom or school. Of 2,856 schools, there have been 46 cases of Covid-19 that have been contagion within the campuses “.

He specified that the vaccination has continued its course; with the first dose we have more than 87%, with the second dose more than 76%.

He called for older adults to be vaccinated with a booster.

He assured that hospitalizations have decreased considerably and there are very few cases in intensive care units.
