Dr. Israel Cedeño clarifies that there are no dengue outbreaks in the Republic of Finland School as has been stated

Students, teachers and parents of the Republic of Finland School demonstrated this Monday in the Punta Pacifica area due to the poor state of the campus and the increase in dengue cases.

Currently 20 cases of dengue have been registered in this school, the health center helped them with the fumigation, they have also sent notes to the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) due to the leaks that have occurred since March, but they have not received answers. , nor on the part of the Communal Board.

Given this situation, Dr. Israel Cedeño, director of the Metropolitan Health Region, confirmed that there are indeed cases of dengue reported so far this year, “we don’t have 20, 30 to 40 cases reported in a week, which is what is has hinted; the cases that we have that are less than 20 have been in the course of the year, in addition there is no evidence that the source of contagion has been the school “.

He commented that the Sanitation team of the Metropolitan Region and the Boca La Caja Health Center have also made reports that the school, in effect, manages some water management issues, but there is no dengue outbreak.

The doctor invited all those who attend and are part of that campus to form brigades for verifying breeding sites and monitoring cases, not only dengue, and thus report it to the health center.

Cedeño said that the operations are maintained in the school due to the issue of sewage and avoiding mosquito breeding sites.
