From January to October of this year, exports from free zones total US$6,529 million, more than a 10% increase compared to 2021, and the fastest growing sectors are medical devices, cigarettes, electronics, services, and textiles.
The international event is taking place in Punta Canais organized by the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA), the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), the Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona) and the National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE).
The Minister of Industry described this meeting as the most important for the free zone sector in Ibero-America, due to the convening of experts, businessmen, investors, government entities and suppliers of this industry from more than 21 countries and two continents to analyze the current situation. advances, innovations, best practices, trends and future challenges of the sector.
The conclave will address issues of technology and innovation, integration, sustainability and resilience, and future challenges of free zones, fundamental catalysts of the economy.
