This was one of the results of the EurosociAL+ program of the European Union, which was formalized by the country in 2019 and which seeks to reduce inequalities
The program EurosociAL+of the European Union, has contributed to improving the quality of public spending to ensure efficient use of State resources.
The results were presented yesterday at a ceremony held at the Catalonia hotel in which the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Pável Isa Contrerasand the director of the program, Juan Manuel Santome, among others.
Methodologies are also being implemented to review spending that allow the generation of fiscal space, as well as prioritization of quality spending to respond to citizen demands.
The program also helped with a methodology on cost structure in public investment projects.
through the National Statistical Office (ONE) A pioneering action was carried out in Latin America that considers data throughout the entire cycle of public policy.
The program supported the Ministry of Labor in formulating and updating a National Employment Plan and in consolidating the National Employment System.

Minister Isa Contreras highlighted the importance of the program to achieve quality of life in each territory of the country.
He explained that EurosociAL+ It is a space for cooperation between the European Union and Latin America that allows the exchange of experiences, cooperation and learning.
He reiterated that economic growth has not been reflected in the improvement of people’s quality of life, because Dominican society has enormous inequalities and the benefits of growth have not been adequately distributed.
He specified that the country’s great challenge is to translate economic growth into quality of life for citizens.
Two other challenges for the country are, in his opinion, accelerating economic prosperity, which means continuously transforming companies to make them more productive, and ensuring that growth is sustainable.
He stated that the Multiannual National Plan for the Public Sector seeks to improve people’s quality of life in a context of great fiscal straitness.
“We are trying to bite the bullet to improve all the indicators, but it is a huge effort,” he said.
He said that a challenge is how macroeconomic figures for 2023 are translated into an improvement in the quality of life of the population.
He recalled that the country has had an extraordinary macroeconomic performance.
