DR and Belgium to lead fight against fentanyl in the Caribbean and Europe

RD y Bélgica encabezarán lucha contra fentanilo en el Caribe y Europa

.

New York.- The Dominican Republic and Belgium were chosen to lead the fight against synthetic drugs in the Caribbean and Europe, within the framework of the Summit of Leaders of the Global Coalition to confront the threat of synthetic drugs such as fentanyl.

This summit was headed by the American president Joe Biden; Secretary of State Antony Blinken and approximately 25 heads of state and government.

The choice of the Dominican Republic to lead the fight against fentanyl in the Caribbean region is due to the successful fight against drugs carried out by President Abinader’s government.

At the meeting, both the Dominican Republic and Belgium were asked to share their experience in the fight against drug trafficking at a global level.

President Abinader and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo were in the front row of this meeting, along with President Biden and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
