Dr. Alfredo Moltó, advisor to the Superior Office of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and director of the School of Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama (UP), provided a balance of the current situation of the Covid-19 in the country.
It revealed that we have almost 88% of the target population that is from 5 years old, with at least one dose, and 78.5% with two doses. Of those who have received these two doses, 51% have received the booster dose.
Moltó referred to the antiviral called “molnupiravir”, which will be distributed starting this Monday, to the different health regions throughout the country.
This medication will decrease hospitalizations and complications, while also reducing the duration of symptoms.
Molnupiravir will be supplied orally for those over 18 years of age, in the first five days of symptoms, the Minsa stressed, through a statement.
