Dr. Alfredo Moltó, who is an advisor to the Superior Office of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), referred to the health alert announced by the Minister of Health Luis Francisco Sucre on Tuesday night, due to the possible arrival of the monkeypox virus. to our country.

He explained that since mid-May the World Health Organization (WHO) has established an epidemiological alert for the issue of monkeypox, which had been detected in some citizens in the United Kingdom. “By May 22 there were already notifications of cases in 12 countries, most of them in Europe. In America, in Canada and the United States,” she said.

He mentioned that with this health alert announced by the Minsa, the objective is for our health system, in all care facilities, to have all the information on what to do when a suspicious case is detected.
