Havana Cuba. – We Cubans used to be, despite the many miseries, very ingenious, ironic; and I do not doubt that these miseries were the ones that awakened our wits a little more. Right now I remember a certain writer named Hurtado who was accused once, and some time ago, of plagiarism, and plagiarism is, without a doubt, something very despicable. Oscar immediately got what he deserved or at least a little of what he deserved. Oscar, and in frank play with the distinctions of him, became since then “Oscar Todo Hurtado”. Undoubtedly, Cuban ingenuity is great, and very abundant.
We Cubans are capable of laughing at our worst misfortunes, but not always; especially if before our family, friends or even a stranger who did not deserve it was offended. Perhaps that is why a great and strong anger grew in us recently. “We got into a rage”, and perhaps to a worse state, but I won’t name it because I don’t want to get into trouble with censorship, which will not accept the word; but since I am stubborn I leave you a brief and camouflaged signal that defines my feeling: “We are emping…”.
And the reasons for my annoyance are very notable, for the annoyance of many on the Island. It turns out that a Spaniard with the same last name as Oscar, is in the center. It turns out that this woman who, without a doubt, did something ugly and more than ugly. That woman’s name is Ana, and her last name is Hurtado, like the plagiarist’s. And she even says that she was once before the national television cameras, they say that at the “Round Table” to which the power, its only shareholder, only invites “cadres” from the Party and the Government, and some than another unhappy man of proven fidelity.
Ana once attended the “Round Table”, to talk about those things that the “Round Table” prefers, that table that we Cubans renamed, long ago and changing only one consonant, as “stupid table”. And there, at least that’s what they told me, Arleen Rodríguez and Ana Hurtado talked, and I don’t know if someone else, because I didn’t see the program, and it was a while ago. But the Spanish woman returned to other properties, to her own, to get rid of it. This time Ana used the networks to rant, to offend a sick man, a man who is an idol for Cubans.
Ana ranted about our “Dear Pablo”, about the Pablo who wrote “Yolanda”, one of the most beautiful Cuban songs of any time. Ana leaned into the pantheon of great Cubans and chose Pablo Milanés from “puchimbá”, but what she suspected was his tongue-revolver backfired on her, but the gunpowder exploded in her face and scorched her. the skin.
Ana, so used to hanging out with those puppets managed by ventriloquists, wanted to offend Pablo Milanés. She wanted to return Pablo to the UMAP, but she got muddy…, and how she stinks…, how that Ana Hurtado stinks, she could be a relative of “Oscar Todo Hurtado”. And it is that you have to be very careful in “plagiarism”, in those brazen thefts, which have been so common in “revolutionary” Cuba.
What came next reminds me of those days of the “little war of the emails”, that little war in which I was lucky to put the first among all the emailsafter discovering Luis Pavón on my television screen, the Luis Pavón of “parametering”, that parameterizer who was guided by Fidel Castro, the “chief parameterizer”, the perpetrator of all evils, including those “ Words to the intellectuals”.
That “little war of the emails”, and she celebrates them dressed in full length, especially with those reactions that a certain Ana Hurtado was causing who denigrated Pablo Milanés, our beloved Pablo. The reactions, the contempt that Ana provoked, were great.
And this time Ana chose the networks so as not to show the traces of her real “producers”. Ana launched into cyberspace, displayed her hatred on her networks, and launched against Pablo Milanés. So many meetings with the Cuban communists, so much flirting with the hierarchs of power could have been the cause of her insult to Pablo Milanés. Ana must have listened to the voice of anyone in power, while she rejected that of Pablo Milanés.
How many lies, how many complaints, how many truculences and hoaxes provoked the hatred of Hurtado? Who instilled hatred in Pablo? Was it the truculences of the communists that caused so much stupidity?
Undoubtedly, behind all this is the hand of the Government, such a specialist in manipulating voices, such an inspector of other people’s property, of larynxes and speech devices, but harsh were the reactions against that Ana Hurtado.
“Don’t mess with Pablo,” Cuba said this time, and Ana Hurtado, the guest of Cuban power, knew well that the oven was not for cookies. We Cubans want a life to the full, and in that fullness there are not a few who have imagined the voice of Pablo, and his singing, enormous of him.
Now that we dream of a just society and we seek it, we should seek it every day, even at the risk that the powers that be will try to silence us, imprison us. Our vocal apparatus, our larynx, must also serve to demand freedom and respect from our heroes, and Pablo was, and will be, one of those heroes. Our voice must be free, and we must not allow a foreigner to offend and insult our symbols, in the mud of our loves.
Pablo died a few days after I finished the “first version” of this text. And I even had the hope that Pablo would continue a little longer, but he couldn’t, and I even suppose that he took my kisses, my hugs, the kisses and hugs of all the Cubans who loved him, and even Ana Hurtado offered her condolencesafter muddying our love affairs, our symbols, our dear Pablo, and hopefully it will be clear to Ana that we will not calmly, sadistically allow them to reduce us to zero, and even less Pablo, that Pablo whom God, without a doubt, , gave him that voice, the inspiration, the subtlety, to compose songs, and the grace to be very loved.
