The musician was blunt with his opinion about the posthumous tributes.
Colombia News.
Guayacán is a salsa music orchestra, one of the most emblematic in our country with great national and international recognition.
Topics like “Hey look see”, “I love you, I miss you”, “Winter in spring”, “Every day that passes”, “Treacherous love”, “When looks speak”, “Torero”, have remained for the history of lovers of this musical genre.
Its founder, Alexis Lozano, a Chocó musician who, together with maestro Jairo Varela, organized the Orquesta Niche and later became independent to set up his own musical group, spoke from Spain in an interview with YouTuber Víctor Sánchez.
In the dialogue with the content generator, the teacher referred to the posthumous tributes paid to artists by erecting statues or busts in their name.

Example: Joe Arroyo, Diomedes Díaz, Rafael Orzoco, Jorge Oñate; among other great artists of international stature who have sculptures in cities and towns in Colombia such as Barranquilla, Valledupar, Becerril and La Junta.
The bassist does not believe in this type of tribute and was blunt in warning that he does not want any statue to be built in his name: “Whoever does it is a hp,” said the 63-year-old man.
“That hypocrisy does not go with me,” he said.
Lozano suggested that these figures should not be made in the name of Guayacán Orchestra, founded in 1986 in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.
“Let him make a statue of the one who gave birth to him,” he said.
In the following video, the controversial statements of the teacher Alexis Lozano are heard:
It is worth noting that in the city of Cali there is a plaza in honor of Mestro Jairo Varela, co-founder of Niche with Alexis Lozano.
A giant trumpet in which the songs of the Niche Group are read inside, is the most representative of this square.
In addition, inside it you can listen to the music of the teacher Jairo Varela, located under the bells of the wind instrument.
