In the first five months of 2022, the Metropolitan Health Region has reported 81 cases of Dengue, of which 64 are without warning signs and 16 with warning signs, in addition to reporting one case of severe dengue.
According to the health authorities, the confirmed cases of dengue are distributed in the villages of Las Garzas, Tocumen, Felipillo, Don Bosco, San Francisco, Ancón, Veracruz, Las Mañanitas, Río Abajo, Betania, December 24, Bella Vista. , Juan Díaz, Parque Lefevre, Pueblo Nuevo, El Chorrillo and Curundú.
They highlighted that until epidemiological week 19, the cases are below the safety line and no deaths have been reported.
Despite the fact that the regional Vector Control team carries out verification, inspection, chemical control and fogging strategies in the districts and areas with the highest infestation rates, they stated that the best fight against Dengue is to eliminate breeding sites.
“We ask the population to carry out the pertinent cleaning and avoid the formation of breeding sites to avoid the proliferation of the adult mosquito that causes diseases such as Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya”, they specified when detailing that of the latter two no cases are reported according to the system of epidemiological surveillance.
