Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) reported this Wednesday that the weather conditions will be affected by a trough that will be generating downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind over various parts of the country.
Precipitation will be more frequent towards various points in the regions: northwest, north, northeast, as well as the eastern plain, the Caribbean coastline and the Cordillera Central.
Metrology predicted that temperatures will stay warm by the incidence of the southeast wind. Meanwhile, maritime conditions will be normal on the coasts of the country.
“In the months of May, June and July, the activity of electrical storms (lightning and thunderstorms) increases in the DR, due to the convective season. In addition, the probability of hail and tornadoes that generate strong winds increases, so we urge you to be vigilant,” he recalled. Onamet.

For tomorrow, Thursday, the incidence of the trough will continue, favoring a cloudy environment from the early hours of the day with the occurrence of moderate downpours on occasions, electrical storms and gusts of wind; mostly concentrated on provinces of the regions: north, northeast, the eastern plain, the Caribbean coast and the Central Cordillera.
The governing body of the local climate explained that temperatures will remain hot during the day, due to the incidence of the warm wind from the southeast, especially in urban areas. For this reason, he recommended drinking plenty of water and wearing light clothing.
